ENTREPRENEUR IN RESIDENCE
CRL is the UK’s first hardware-focused Accelerator Programme. We work with eight product based businesses every six months. We are seeking an Entrepreneur in Residence to provide support for companies to take innovative products to market. The entrepreneur will be responsible for mentoring the cohort on a biweekly basis and monitoring and tracking progress.
The successful candidate will work closely with the CRL team and report to the Accelerator Programme Manager.
We’re looking for an open-minded, creative leader who will persistently and passionately seek novel solutions to complex problems. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished founder and/or industry expert who has a wide range of experience and industry interests, with expertise in hardware start-ups and the passion and energy to take a rough idea from concept to product launch and market traction.
Area of expertise, interest or experience
Practical experience leading businesses, working with customers and building tech products in a fast-paced environment.
A proven track record of taking ideas and bringing them to life
5+ years in Marketing, Product or Commercial roles within a high-growth startup.
Entrepreneurial, with an enthusiasm for early-stage technology businesses.
Experience interpreting data to uncover insights and inform decisions.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with CEOs and product teams.
Degree in Design, Engineering, Business, Marketing, Economics or related discipline.
A curious and creative mind, eager to understand what makes people tick, as well as the ability to reconcile this understanding with commercial imperative
A love of building products that users rave about and working across different projects with lots of competing priorities at a rapid pace
This position is initially, and is expected to be part-time. The salary is negotiable based upon the experience of the successful candidate. This position is partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
The Central Research Laboratory is in Hayes, West London, 20 minutes by train from Paddington station and close to Heathrow Airport. It is located in The Shipping Building, a beautifully restored former industrial building at the heart of The Old Vinyl Factory site. It’s an exciting and developing area and already home to the new UK HQ of SONOS and smaller product businesses like industrial drones company, Sky Futures.
